About Digital Unite Tutors

About Digital Unite Tutors

DU Tutors are carefully selected and go through a rigorous interview and selection process, so we know that they're:

  • Properly skilled
  • Professional
  • Safe to go into people's homes
  • Gentle, empathic, patient with new and/or nervous or reluctant learners
  • Open to learning new things themselves
Who are they?

Tutors specialise in working with people who are nervous first-timers. They can teach more advanced learners, too, and many can teach specialist applications. They will advise on which kit to buy and will recommend local suppliers. They may be able to troubleshoot problems with equipment or connection, or will be able to recommend someone who can help. They are self-employed and licensed by DU. There's a roughly even split between men and women. Most are in their 40s and 50s, although we don't stipulate age either for tutors or learners! How much do they cost?

Tutors are asked to keep their costs down for clients at home. You should expect to pay around £25 per hour, plus travel if necessary. Tutors will always agree the fee in advance, and they may be willing to give discounts if you book several sessions.

The hourly rate for business clients is negotiable between the Tutor and the client.

Our quality control ensures that we know how our Tutors are received by their clients; Tutors should distibute feedback questionnaires with a sae for return to DU Head Office or clients can feed back directly by telephoning 0870 241 5091.

How do I find a tutor?

Contact DU Head Office by telephone: 0870 241 5091, or by email using our Contact Form. Please give your postcode and a brief outline of the training you require. You can view Tutors' profiles here.
